This week, we're talking to marketing specialist Adil Ahmed, one of IPEX's original team members.
Hi Adil, tell us a little bit about yourself
"I'm 21 years old, and I joined IPEX just over a year ago. It’s been a great journey so far.
"I have the freedom to shape my own role and take pride in contributing to the growth of the company, whilst finding time to have a laugh with the team too.
"In my spare time I enjoy going to the gym."
Can you describe your introduction to IPEX? How did you come to join the team?
"I knew this was the company for me when I met the directors Dan and Paul.
"In addition to the usual interview questions about my experience and my knowledge of the sector, they took a specific interest in me and my personal goals, and we talked about what the company could do for me, not just what I could do for the company.
"This was really refreshing and I knew I could really develop my career with IPEX. They offered me the job the same day, and I became one of the first employees."

Can you describe what your role involves?
"My role involves seeking out new business opportunities for myself and my team.
"I really enjoy it because we’ve got a great sales proposition, and we’re happy to go the extra mile for customer satisfaction, so it’s not a hard sell. I also input on marketing and internal operations as it’s all part of the mix."
What do you see as the most important part of what you do?
"The most important aspect of my role is guiding and advising businesses on the options available.
"Telecoms can be a minefield for some businesses, and I really like building relationships and partnerships, it’s about more than winning customers.
"The feedback and thanks that we get is the best motivation.
"We’ve got a really strong team here at IPEX; we all support each other to make sure work is completed on time, and to a high standard. It's a great team atmosphere."
What are your favourite parts of what you do?
"The laughs! It's a great place to work, everyday is different but there will always be time for a laugh. This for me is important as I believe if you are happy in your job you won’t work another day in your life."
What do you think makes a successful salesperson?
"Dedication, motivation, passion and most importantly support. It's important to have the correct tools and facilities to not just say we can do this but to show what we can do and how we do it."
Continuously learning and evolving is a huge part of what we do at IPEX. What are the most important learning experiences you’ve had so far?
"When I first started I was nervous going into customer meetings, but with the support and encouragement of the team and the positive feedback from clients I quickly became more confident in what I do.
"I’ve learnt so much about telecoms and connectivity and take a lot from the continuous training I receive at IPEX too. It’s not an industry that you can afford to stop educating yourself in, and that’s part of the challenge I love."

Where do you see your career heading?
"I’d like to continue developing my career with IPEX. We’re on an exciting journey and although we’ve had a lot of success to be proud of already, I see the potential for us to continue to grow, and I’m looking forward to expanding my team."
What would you say to anyone interested in joining IPEX?
"Join while you have the chance! Great people, a great team atmosphere and lots to learn with the freedom to map out your own destiny.
"You won't regret it."
